Exciting announcements at service meeting

we've already had a post on this, but there were other interesting comments.. the brother giving the announcements said that there would be a new understanding of jesus' reference to the generation as discussed at the annual meeting.. an elder giving a service meeting part review of different watchtower articles from the current year brought out the new light concerning 1935.. he asks: "when is the sealing of the anounted ones?".

elder answers: "there is no specific date".

later after the meeting, i asked an elder if the new understanding of the remnant now meant that younger people could go to heaven.. he answered with an affirmative "yes" and that we would be getting the new understanding of the generation jesus spoke of in a future 2008 watchtower.. .

So is the Society gonna explain why those born after 1935 but who died before 2007 were just "born at the wrong time" to have a heavenly hope? What biblical reason is there to expect that the calling to the New Covenant would cease and then restart again?

Exactly Leolia. In the late 1970's and before and until now it was, only the 144,000 going to heaven and that number has been reached so that hope is no longer up for grabs. Oh sure, the occasional *colorful* induh-vidual will proclaim being of the annointed (steer clear of that), and no one can know for sure, blah blah blah...

So what happened to those who passed away under the previous "truth"? Maybe they DID go to heaven? Boy, they must of been really surprised!

This was the great red flag my family saw from a mile away, 'worldly' as they are, anyone stating who will or will not go to heaven and applying arbitrary numbers and dates, in their favor of course.

Frankie-- sure go to "ThePeoplesCube.com" run by Oleg Atbashian, who grew up in communist Ukraine. He knows what communism is all about, and has perspective that we who have always enjoyed freedom cannot have. I play a character on the Cube (equal results guaranteed!), in support of the revolution *wink* of course.

it seems alot of members here live in the burbs or city so i was wondering who else besides me lives on acreage or rural areas?

i live on eight acres at the base of the cascade foothills.

a half mile away the power lines stop and the old logging roads start.

Brent that sounds soooo beautiful. I was just out in CA a few weeks back, and was taken with how beautiful it is out west.

Here it's humid most of the time, not now though. We have a view of the Blue Ridge Mts. that are probably foot-hills compared to what you have. There are forests all around too, but the neighbors are closer than what you have.

As news of the London terrorist attack by an al-Qaeda group spread Thursday, three progressive intellectuals Noam Chomsky, Ward Churchill, and Lenora Fulani immediately felt in their hearts the need to reach out and explain to Londoners why the attacks, which killed over 40 people and injured 300, were their own fault and that they fully deserved what they got.

Incense...

if so, what is your favourite scent?

which reminds me...i always light a stick of incense an hour or so before the "girls" show up for study.

Oh yes Summer. We have a cute little log-cabin incense burner, the smoke comes out of the little chimney. The only stick we have right now is called "christmas memories", smells like pine cones. I always liked the musk incense a lot too.
